Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter and my final chapter of 2015. 2015 has been another very busy and successful year both on and off the golf course. The retail environment has been some what challenging once again this year and I am indebted to the membership for their continuous support.
This week's results...
We have been pretty busy this week on the competitive front with several end of season events taking place. The first of which was the Seniors' Xmas Competition on Monday. The event was played as a Greensomes Stableford with a draw for partners and a shotgun start. A full field took to the course and the leading pair on the day with an impressive 39 points were Graham Webb and Ray Ambrose.
The Seniors were out again in force this week when they played an Individual Stableford. The star performer on the day was Tom Kenny who returned a tremendous 36 points in the torrid conditions to claim top spot. The leading venerable vet was Jack Jones with 31 points.
The Xmas Fourball with the Town Club took place at the Club on Sunday. The leading pair on the day were Club Captain Stewart Jackson and the Town Club Captain Paul Bryon who recorded a famous victory with 44 points.
The Ladies competition on Tuesday fell foul to the conditions as heavy rain and fog wiped out play for the day.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners!
The gift that keeps on giving
We'd guess that most people prefer to receive something tangible for Christmas, certainly where golf is concerned. A voucher may be well received, but does it beat opening a box and getting a new driver?
However, there are some gifts that will just keep on giving. What if we told you next year you have the potential to enjoy your best ever season on the course? You can make that happen by booking a course of lessons for 2016; even better, ask that special someone to book them for you, what with it being Christmas and everything.
We're happy to take lesson requests from family and friends and working out a way of helping you improve next year, just get in touch here. Yes, it may be more exciting unwrapping a fancy new putter on Christmas Day, but a course of lessons may take your game to a whole new level next year.
Christmas at East Devon
Just a brief reminder to all of our customers that the pro shop will be closed on Christmas and Boxing Day.
Finally this week I would just like to take this opportunity on behalf of Andrew and Myself to wish all members, customers and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
