Welcome to the latest edition of my weekly newsletter. The weather has been a little quieter this week and it has been nice to have seen a few more golfers out and about on the course and at the Club. I can't say that I will be disappointed to see the back end of February, let's hope next month will be a little kinder and drier?
I have just returned from a family skiing holiday to La Massana in Andorra. It was great to meet up with my brother and sisters and all of their families and an enjoyable time was had on the slopes and off-piste!
Competitive action has been a little thin on the ground once again this week. The only event to take place has been the February Stableford.
Scoring conditions on the day were far from easy but this didn't seem to bother
Colin Thomas as he recorded an excellent 37 points to take the best overall score of the day prize and top spot in Division 3.
Mark Coles armed with his new
PING G Series Driver led the way in a closely contested Division 2 with 36 points, and
Robin Murray took the honours in Division 1 with 33 points. There were 91 entries.
Congratulations to all of this weeks winners
From time to time we like to share some coaching tips through our newsletters in an effort to help you lower your scores. This week you'll see we're offering some advice on how to effectively escape wet sand - which is somewhat topical, unfortunately.
Being able to adjust to the wintry conditions is a real skill, whether that's playing the ball a little further back in your stance to keep the ball underneath the wind, or adjusting your technique to escape wet sand (below) - so we hope you find these articles useful.
Of course, some one-on-one coaching may be what you need, as we appreciate that putting these tips into practice isn't always that easy, even if they make perfect sense.
We hope you're enjoying your golf no matter what the weather is throwing at you, but do come and see us, or make an enquiry
here, if you'd like some assistance. In the meantime, give the tip below a try and next time you end up bunkered in the wet sand, you might not get such a sinking feeling.
