It turned out to be a pretty disappointing Easter Weekend on the weather front, but we did manage to get 2 of the 3 scheduled events on despite the heavy rain!
The Mixed individual Stableford on Good Friday attracted a bumper entry, and in a closely contested contest, it was young Bea Stone who was the shining light on the day recording an excellent 41 points to top the leaderboard.
The Easter Monday Stableford just about managed to survive the elements as more heavy overnight rain left the course a tad on the damp side. All of the bunkers were declared as ground under repair for the day, as the majority were filled with water and 1 temporary green was in play. Paul was in early to move at least 6 holes to get the course playable. The one player who found the testing conditions most to his liking was Paul Maslen, who returned a fantastic 42 points on his way to a landslide victory.
An American Greensomes was on the agenda for the ladies on Tuesday. The leading pairing on the day was Hilary Shiels and Margaret Webb with a tremendous 43 points.
There was an excellent turn out for the start of season coaching session for the Still Cup and President's Trophy teams on Thursday. I had the pleasure of delivering a morning and afternoon short game class which should hopefully set the teams well on their way for their matches beginning later this month.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners.
