Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter. It has been another very busy week here at East Devon Golf Club.
The season seems to have kicked started, trade has been brisk, the lesson diary is filling up nicely and there even seems to be some grass starting to grow out on the golf course, long may it continue.
Our annual Get into Golf campaign gets underway this weekend. The response this year has been very positive, and it is hoped up to 20 new pupils will attend the FREE Taster Session this coming Saturday.
If you are looking at getting into golf, please come and have a chat with us in the pro shop, or click here to get in touch.
Congratulations to David Blick and Matt Stone on winning this year's Benzie Salvers.
Mike Brailey's Emerton Court side got off to a positive start to this year's event with a solid 4-1 victory over Dainton Park at home on Tuesday. The return leg takes place next week and we wish Mike and his team well.
The May Medal and Warn Cup were up for grabs on Saturday. An entry of 87 battled it out for the honours, and it was Neil Roughton who rose to the top of the pile, recording an excellent nett 68 to claim top spot in Division 1, the best overall score of the day and lifting the silverware in the form of the Warn Cup for good measure. Mike Brailey led the way in Division 2 with a nett 72 and John Wingate did likewise on his way to winning Division 3.
Congratulations to Lisa Tinsley and Lauren Chapman on winning the ladies Express and Echo Foursomes on Tuesday with an impressive 34 points.
The seniors were out in force on Monday for the Veteran's Cup. The event proved to be an extremely close run affair with two players locked at the top of the leaderboard on 39 points. By virtue of a better back nine, Peter Dowling was crowned as this year's victor. Barry Devetta was the leading venerable vet with 33 points.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners.

Custom Fitted product isn't more expensive
Who's in this camp? "Custom fitted products cost me more than buying off the shelf." Wrong! If we got a pound for every time we heard this one…
We have the tools and the expertise to help you enjoy better golf by custom fitting you for equipment that's right for your own swing - and this doesn't have to come at an extra cost.
Our goal is to help you get more enjoyment from the game - which comes in many forms, maybe extra distance, finding more fairways, or just better ball striking consistency. However, custom fitted product doesn't have to be more expensive; we'd rather see our customers happy with their new equipment.
Until the end of June, we are offering a FREE fitting and a FREE after sales lesson when you buy hardware from us. Please click here to view a video that will show you more.
If you have any custom fitting or equipment queries, don't hesitate to come and speak to us or click here to send us an email. |
