Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter. It has been another rather mixed week on the weather front with a bit more of the wet stuff falling and some pretty decent winds blowing through the place to add to the fun and games.
The first piece of action to report upon this week is from the November Medal which took place last Saturday. A brisk day greeted the 77 competitors but that didn't in any way detract from the standard of scoring recorded on the day. Taking the honour of best score of the day and topping Division 2 was David Standley with an impressive nett 68. John Bain led the way in Division 1 with a nett 69 and Ray Dawson made it back to back wins in Division 3 with a nett 70.
The Seniors were out in force on Monday for a Better-Ball Stableford. The packed out event with 92 entries was as keenly contested as ever. The leading pairing with an excellent 44 points was Richard Gerry and Clive Pantoll.
The Greenkeeper's Revenge was on the agenda for the ladies on Tuesday. The objective of the day was to have fun... Paul and his staff had set the course up with one or two little obstructions to challenge the competitors.
The trio that found the course most to their liking was SallyUnderwood, Nina Hawkins and Sue Burley who recorded a fantastic 51 points.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners.
