Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter.
It was nice to see so many smiling faces at the annual Club Prize Giving which took place at the Club on Saturday evening. The event was well supported and members were given the chance to receive accolades for their achievements throughout the playing season.

It has been another busy week on the playing front considering that we are deep into November. Kicking off the action this week is news from the November Stableford held last Saturday here at East Devon Golf Club. Conditions on the day were pretty calm, resulting in a glut of impressive scoring.
Locked at the top of the overall leaderboard with an excellent 41 points was Mike Brailey and John Connolly. By virtue of a better back nine, Mike took the honours in Division 2. Jim Colvin continued his tremendous season of golf by clinching top spot in division 1 with 40 points and Michael O'Reilly led the way in Division 3 with 39 points. There were 98 entries.
The Senior's competition on Monday fell foul to the weather as high winds and torrential rain made play on the day impossible.
The course rallied sufficiently for the Ladies to get some play the following day, although the competition was reduced to nine holes. The leading pair in the Greensomes Stableford with 21 points was Nina Hawkins and Helen Hughes.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners. |
