Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter. It has been another busy week both on and off the course here at East Devon Golf Club with the lovely weather continuing. Rumour has it that there is plenty more to come, fingers crossed.
County Stableford
First action was from Tuesday with a County Stableford challenging the Ladies section. Scoring on the day was tricky with only two ladies breaking par. Taking the honors for best score on the day and top spot in Division 1 was Elaine Bright with a fantastic 38 Points. The winner of Division 2 was Julie Clarke with 36 Points.
Midweek Stableford
There was a Midweek Stableford on Wednesday where conditions varied throughout the day. Low cloud and fog closed the course for an hour in the morning, then bright sunshine welcomed the afternoon starters. This didn't affect Ian Andrew who topped the leaderboard on the day and continued his good run of form with an impressive 38 points. There were 42 entries.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners.
If you are not at Hoylake this week, we suspect you'll be glued to the TV as the Open Championship unfolds. However if you're watching, the Open offers a great chance not just to enjoy some fantastic drama, but to improve your game.
Watch the most skilled golfers on the planet battle it out and you appreciate there are many ways to play consistently excellent golf. But there's one attribute every single player in the field possesses: balance. You simply never see a tour pro falling off the shot.
Though we don't always realise it, poor balance is behind a host of poor swing traits. A bent left arm, for example, often accompanies a sway to stop you falling too far behind the ball. In contrast to the pro's, many club golfers exhibit poor balance, and their consistency suffers as a result. Improve your balance, and your swing instantly becomes more repeatable and efficient.
A session with us will put you on the right track. It's a great way to make fast progress in your game. Click here to request yours.
Have a great week, enjoy your golf and The Open Championship which I am sure a number of you will be watching.
