It has been another reasonable week here at East Devon Golf Club, the course is starting to show signs of drying up a touch, and I am pleased to report that the 3 main playing sections of the Club have managed to get an event on this week!
There was a decent turn out for the March Medal on Saturday, thankfully dry conditions prevailed on the day, and scoring proved to be excellent.
The star performer on the day was Stephen Phillips who recorded a fantastic nett 66 to land the best overall score and victory in Division 1. Glenn Tucker took the honours in Division 2 with a fine nett 68, and Alex Bannon led the way in Division 3 with a nett 72.
The Senior's were out in force on Monday for their Individual Stableford it was also the first round of the Seniors Centenary Salver. Heavy overnight rain had put the competition in doubt, but Paul and his team worked miracle and manage to get play away on schedule. Scoring on the day was far from easy, with the wet conditions underfoot and only two players managed to break par. Coming out on top of the pack with an impressive 41 points was Bob Horton. Mike Cole was the leading venerable vet with 31 points.
