Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter. I have just returned from an incredible trip to Scotland and an epic few days at the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. The event proved to be an outstanding and I had the pleasure of cheering the European Team onto yet another victory!
Did the fact that it never really got nail biting take the edge off this one? Not really if you're a European fan because a win's a win! However, it's a genuine debate for the clubhouse; could we have done with a closer affair for the good of the contest? We'll let you have that discussion...
In any case we hope you feel inspired to get out on the course. And when you're next in the pro shop be sure to check out the new arrivals. It's that time of year when we get to see some exciting new equipment releases. If anything catches your eye then speak to the team and get our expert advice.

The first domestic action to report upon this week is the results from the Autumn Pheasant. The event is played as a Foursomes Stableford off half combined handicap. The star performers on the day were the pairing of Neil Jones and Danny Barrett who strode to victory with an impressive 39 points. 34 pairs entered.
The Ladies were out in force on Tuesday for their EG Medal. Scoring on the day in the balmy conditions was excellent. There was a two way tie at the top of the leaderboard for the best overall score of day, which was shared by Sue Fowler and Linda Longmuir with nett 70's. Both players also won their respective Divisions.
Several of the Club's Summer Knockouts have now been concluded and I would like to congratulate the following players on their success:
Glenn Page on winning the Heywood Bowl
Bob Humphrey on winning the Banfield Trophy
Congratulations to all of this week's winners.
