Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter. To start with this week I would like to thank all the members and my customers who supported my End of Season Sale last weekend. We had a very busy time of it over the 3 days and managed to clear the decks for the arrival of my new range of Autumn/Winter clothing, waterproofs and footwear, which is now out and on display in the Pro-Shop.
Anyone who tuned in to watch the conclusion of the Portugal Masters on Sunday would have been hugely disappointed with the tournament being reduced to just 36 holes because of heavy rain. There's nothing worse than an unplayable course, but sometimes it's the best thing to do.
However, that doesn't mean it's time to stick the clubs away! Make sure you come and check out our great autumn/winter collections in store so there's no excuse for not being prepared to play through the next few months and over the winter. If anything, we'll have you looking forward to the rain so you can pull on that lovely new waterproof suit.
Come and see what we have in store and enjoy your golf all year round. Click here to tell us what you need to get you through the next few months.
Come and pay us a visit and see for yourself!
Midweek Stableford
There was a modest entry for the Midweek Stableford last Wednesday, and in all honesty scoring and playing conditions on the day were far from ideal. Ian Andrews came out on top of the pack with a very creditable 34 points.
Silver Putter
24 pairs battled it out for the Silver Putter on Saturday. The event is played as a Foursomes Stableford and was rather dominated by the pairing of Bill Norris and Philip Prince who cruised to victory with a tremendous 41 points.
The seniors competition on Monday fell foul to the weather for the second week running as heavy rain swept across the course making play on the day impossible.
The Ladies had a little more success the following the day as the rain eased and their County Stableford went ahead as planned with an entry of 72 players.
The leading Lady on the day was another one of my Academy Member Graduates, Jane Robertson who recorded an excellent 42 points to take the best overall score of the day prize and top spot in Division 2. Jane has had a fantastic year with her golf and has now seen her handicap reduced to 24, a full 12 shot reduction in less than 12 months. Keep up the good work!
Rosemary Pratt returned to form to take the honours in a closely contested Division 1 with an impressive 40 points.
Congratulations to all this weeks winners.
