Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter. It has been a slightly less busy week here at East Devon Golf Club as the weather has taken a slight turn for the worst. It is hard to believe that British Summer Time ends this coming weekend, but I don't think that anybody can complain after the season we have had?
First action to report on the week is the October Stableford on Saturday. The star performer on the day was Malcolm Baker, who recorded an excellent 39 points to claim the best overall score of the day and top spot in Division 2. Brian Sansom won Division 1 and Colin Thomas Division 3 both with 38 Points.
The seniors were out in force on Monday for their Texas Scramble event. The team of
Neil Roughton, Kim Johnson, Andy Scott and
Alan Dewhurst were victorious with a brilliant score of 59.7. It was a very closely contested event with the top 3 teams all within 0.8 of a shot of clinching top spot.
The ladies Jolly Foursomes attracted 23 Pairs on Tuesday. The leading ladies on the day with an excellent 36 points in the blustery conditions was the pairing of Margaret Whitehead and the inform Jane Robertson.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners.
With just over 60 days or so to go until Christmas we know those of you who like to be organised will already be ticking items off the list. Is there something you'd like though? We're sure you have one or two 'golf wants' so why not forward our details on to your wife/husband/friend. With our details they can get in touch with our golf team and maybe we can organise that golf GPS, new trolley, or set of lessons you're after, all the while keeping things nice and discreet. All part of the service!
