Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter. It has been another busy week here at East Devon Golf Club.

I had the pleasure of attending our Foremost Golf Spring Workshop at Exeter Golf and Country Club on Tuesday. The event was well attended with some excellent guest speakers and will act as a catalyst for getting my season fully underway. It was good to catch up with a number of the local Professionals who are experiencing similar challenging times and working towards a strategy to grow the game in 2015.

Competitive action has been a little thin on the ground this week with the only scheduled event being the February Stableford.

A windy and wild day greeted the 96 competitors and scoring conditions were far from easy. Only two players out of the entire field managed to record scores of even par and they were incidentally locked at the top of Division 1 with 36 Points. Richard Eltham edging Paul Newcombe out by virtue of a better back nine. Neil Sear led the way in Division 2 with 33 Points a score matched by Ron Jefford on his way to winning Division 3.

Foremost TV was in Orlando recently for the PGA Merchandise Show, an annual event where all the big manufacturers turn out to show the industry what they have in store for the year.
