Hello golfers, 

Welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter. It has been another busy week here at East Devon Golf Club. 



'It's feeling a bit autumnal out there' 

That wonderful saying that means the summer is basically over. That might be disappointing for the sun worshippers and anyone who hasn't achieved the tan they wanted this year. However, the autumn months are a favourite time to play for many golfers; what with the golden leaves, receptive greens and warmish temperatures (hopefully). 

Our only advice is that you make sure you check out the 2015 Autumn/Winter Collections arriving in store - there are some great options to help you playing golf through the milder months. Golf's top brands continue to give us some fantastic choices in terms of layering, and modern outerwear helps us to continue playing through the winter with garments that work with the golf swing. 

September and October really are super months to enjoy golf, that's why we're so looking forward to the British Masters in October. Summer's gone but there's lots more golf to enjoy. First action to report upon this week is from the 3 Ball Team Stableford held at the Club last Saturday. 29 teams battled it out for the honours, and in a closely contested contest the trio of Chris Taunton, Dennis Chivers and Stephen Phillips came up trumps with an excellent 81 points. 

1st - Chris Taunton, Dennis Chivers & Stephen Phillips 81 Pts 
2nd - Bruce Chapman, Jason Rowbotham & Robin Murray 81 Pts 
3rd - Eric Biddulph, Richard Price-Hughes & Geoff Millardship 79 Pts

The Ladies were out in force on Tuesday for a Stableford. Scores on the day were impressive and there was a two way tie at the top of the leaderboard. By virtue of a better back nine Sue Burley claimed top spot over Linda Holdway with 39 points. 

1st Sue Burley 39 Pts, 2nd Linda Holdway 39 Pts and 3rd Ali Miller 38 Pts

The Seniors Bailey Salver fell foul to the weather once again on Monday as heavy rain made play on the day impossible. 

Commiserations to the Sheelah Creasy Team who narrowly missed out on winning this years trophy after a narrow defeat to Oakhampton at Yelverton on Monday.
