The first port of call for visitors to East Devon Golf Club is the Professional's Shop for the payment of green fees, proof of handicap and some friendly advice on playing the course. I aim to provide a well stocked shop offering a wide range of clubs, bags, clothing, and all the other golfing sundries you might expect to find. Additionally, should there be a need...... Club and Trolley hire is available. Together with my assistant Matt Lockey, I am well equipped to provide you with advice and provide facilities for lessons and coaching programmes for both adult and junior golfers.
Trevor Underwood - PGA Head ProfessionalI started my professional career at Ryde Golf Club where I was Head Professional for four years before moving to East Devon Golf Club in 1986. I have enjoyed a successful playing career as both an amateur and a professional, and have numerous victories to my name. My commitment was rewarded in 1981 when I obtained my European Tour Card, which I retained for a couple of seasons. More recently I was privileged to become a member of the prestigious Ashworth Cup Team. I achieved PGA Advanced status in 2008 for my services to the game. With an extensive knowledge of the game, I have now taken on a more senior role on the business side of the operation, as well as the day to day running of the Professional’s Shop. I am also an accomplished teacher, and I believe my simple, uncomplicated approach to teaching allows me to be successful with beginners, intermediate and advanced players.
Andrew Place - PGA Assistant ProfessionalAndrew has been a member of Staddon Heights Golf Club for 16 years and is now into his second of a 3 year PGA foundation degree course training to be a fully fledged professional. He has represented Devon in both the junior and men’s team as an amateur and was also was Captain of the U18s Devon team in 2005-2006.
Andrew enjoys all aspects of the game and is very much looking forward to getting to know the club members and to continue the good work previously done with the Junior Academy.
